Info Session: Mobility & Tourism Innovations Tirol

Mobility is at the heart of every journey – how people arrive, move and explore shapes every trip. “Mobility & Tourism Innovations Tirol” is a Europe-wide innovation initiative looking for ready-to-implement solutions that set new standards for tourism mobility in Tirol and the Austrian Alps.

With 12.8 million guests and almost 50 million overnight stays each year, Tirol ranks among Europe’s leading tourism regions – renowned for its iconic ski resorts, alpine villages and unique location in the heart of the Alps. At the same time, its geographic conditions, strong seasonal peaks and high share of international guest arrivals of 88% create significant mobility challenges. Today, almost 90% of guests still travel to Tirol by car. As transport accounts for around 75% of tourism-related emissions, mobility represents the key lever for making tourism in Tirol more climate-friendly, improving the overall visitor experience and strengthening the region’s long-term competitiveness.

The initiative focuses on solutions that make travelling easier, more seamless and more sustainable – from luggage services and last-mile mobility to door-to-door information, booking and climate-friendly tourism mobility. Hosted by the State of Tirol, Tirol Werbung (Tirol Tourist Board) and the Public Transport Association Tirol together with POINT& and vionmo, the initiative "Mobility & Tourism Innovations Tirol" is looking for solutions that can be tested, implemented and scaled in real-world tourism settings.
