We are happy to announce the next ABC Blockchain Talk on Dec, 14th 2021 – 5 p.m. on the topic “Towards a Circular Plastic Supply Chain: Blockchain & Recycling”

Improving recycling rates for plastic bottles is an important environmental topic. New technologies like blockchain can help to reach this goal. In this event, ABC Research and its partners will present results of a research project that investigated the use of Blockchain technology for tracking and incentivizing the recycling of PET bottles by consumers via smartphone apps.

- Gerhard Seidl from Coca-Cola HBC will outline why this topic is so relevant today,

- Johannes Pulsfort (WU Wien) will explain our blockchain-based recycling concept and present practical results from an initial pilot study,

- Christian Baumann will give an overview of the Private Sector Blockchain, a permissioned blockchain infrastructure for the private sector in Austria, and describe its role within this recycling project.
