Ayamarca - Andean celebration for the ancestors & the souls that have passed, celebrating transformation and the connection to the invisible
» Samhain & european traditions
Samhain is the marking of the end of summer and the beginning of winter.
Since these portals are not only a specific day but a time portal of some days, we will honour this time on the 25.10 with the opening of the portal.
It is a time of transition, in which the veil between the living and the dead was very permeable, why it is aswell known as the festivity for the ancestors.
Traditionally Samhain was celebrated with fire and costumes to ward off spirits and darkness and to celebrate the 'New Year'
Celtic New Year: Samhain was celebrated as a NewYears Festivity to mark the light part of the year and the beginning of the dark and cold part of the year.
Being a time of transition and where the veil is thinning, it was always considered as a very magical time.
