About this event
At this edition of Drops of Inspiration, Tamara Höfer invites us to rethink what justice can look like when reintegration becomes the goal, not the afterthought. As the founder of Richtungswechsel, she works to transform how societies see incarceration - by focusing on the people inside the system: those serving sentences and those working within it.
Through her work, Tamara builds pathways for second chances. She strengthens training for prison staff, fosters dignity and connection behind bars, and advocates for systems that prepare people to return to society - not be shut out from it. Join us for an evening about humanity, hope, and the quiet revolutions that start where few think to look.

Tamara about herself:
I'm a former Prison Research Advisor for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Due to my degree in Security and Crime Science and my previous work as a frontline prison officer at HMPPS, I feel incredibly passionate about offender rehabilitation and crime reduction.
I have since expanded on my passion and worked as a Prison Research Advisor for Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, conducting research in Nigeria, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. I have been trained in crime investigation and analysis, and I believe that crime and prison research is at the core of effective crime prevention strategies, which, in turn, affects crime reduction and rehabilitation.
Additionally, by working as the Equalities Officer in a female prison, I have extended my knowledge of diversity and inclusion and have a continuously growing interest in human rights.
