Get an insight about false theroies about our brain and learn how to improve your critical thinking skills!

About this event

Everyone is talking about our brain - neuroscience, neuromarketing, neuropsychology, etc. Hardly any lecture or workshop can do without a reference to the latest brain research.

But - a lot of it is not true!

There are many myths about the brain that no longer correspond to the current state of science but are still as popular as they were in the decades in which they arose. The left and right hemispheres of the brain, the three-part brain, the epic battle between the animal and human parts of the brain - does anything sound familiar here?

The related question is just as intriguing as the real state of research: so why do these myths persist even though science has long since moved on from them?

What is happening here?

The answer is biases that unconsciously influence us and reinforce our belief in these and many other myths. This contributes to certain narratives sometimes persisting longer than is actually useful.

This free webinar will give you a deeper insight into the myths about our brain and contrast them with recent research. This also allows us to build a bridge to some theories in the fields of leadership and management, which in turn may be based on scientifically outdated theories.

In addition, I will discuss the following topics with you:

  • You will recognise which biases have an influence on the formation of myths, also on you.
  • Through examples you will understand why our brain likes to believe some theories about itself (and what it should better believe).
  • You will learn first steps to think more critically, but still constructively.

This will give you a better understanding of the topic and you will be able to clear up one or two myths yourself! We will also discuss the different ways to further engage with the topic. Biases are thinking errors that need to be recognised and disempowered through sustainable training.

You don't want to wait any longer and want to apply the positive effect of de-biasing immediately, professionally and privately, in order to experience a positive change? Then book the entire webinar series "Biases and how to reduce them - basics" and start the exciting journey with me on the topic of biases!

After attending my webinars you will be able to recognise, reduce and even avoid Biases!

Important note:

I would like to mention a key point on this topic: I am not a brain researcher myself, so I refer to secondary literature from the year 2020 when making statements about the brain. By citing the sources during the webinar, it is always possible to check where the information comes from or on which studies it is based.

This approach should always be used when making statements about a field that does not correspond to one's own core expertise. Unfortunately, this practice is not used very often, which contributes to further reinforcing popular myths.

The critical examination of information and its sources is, of course, already a de-biasing measure.
