About this event

Jewish Vienna: A Walking Tour

This tour is a reminder of the dynamism, wild creativity and interdisciplinary cleverness of so much of Vienna's Jewish community. And then all the tragedy and cruelty and racism.

We will put into context some of our contemporary world events, and hear about brilliant figures from Stefan Zweig to Freud, Hedy Lamarr to Simon Wiesenthal and Gustav Mahler.

The stark presence of the Flakturm, the quiet Stolpersteine, the restored Talmud Tora school and the bold public art of KÖR are just some of the ways Vienna remembers - and invites us to reflect.

We'll end the tour with a social moment, to share our reflections from the walk.
