Max Doemer "Fusion Terrain" - Vernissage

“Fusion Terrain” presents photographs by Max Doemer in which nature and architecture merge in unexpected ways. His images reveal new perspectives on urban spaces where trees, plants and buildings form a hybrid landscape. Through precise compositions, unusual viewpoints and a deliberate use of light and shadow, Max Doemer creates works that are both documentary and poetic.

Artist statement:

Images that combine architectural elements and plants have always fascinated me, as they encourage us to reflect on our environment, our way of life, and our future in the face of profound changes such as climate change and technological progress.

For me, “Fusion Terrain” is therefore not merely a series about aesthetic forms, but also a visual exploration of the possibilities of coexistence – between what we create and what surrounds us.

About the artist (biography)

Max Doemer (b. 1965, Luxembourg) has lived in Vienna since 2001. He discovered photography with the advent of digital imaging and developed his personal style through a multi-semester photography course and various workshops in artistic photography. His work focuses on the beauty and peculiarities of everyday life.

With his current exhibition “Fusion Terrain – The Merging of Nature and Architecture into New Hybrid Forms” (Galerie LIK, Vienna, 2025), Max Doemer presents a series in which urban architecture and plant life merge into new, hybrid landscapes. His photographs play with perception and reality, offering new perspectives on familiar spaces.

Max Doemer has previously shown his work in various solo and group exhibitions, including the solo show “Dauer und Wandel – Momentaufnahmen in der Josefstadt” at the Magistratisches Bezirksamt Josefstadt, as well as exhibitions at FotoQuartier Wien, Atelier Kombinage, and the Austrian Association of Women Artists (VBKÖ).
