Tasha at The Birth Project
Pop the kettle on. If you're here to talk birth, let's get the biscuits out.
Tasha is a qualified hypnobirthing instructor that runs antenatal classes. In a past life (before children) she was a teacher and worked in Arts Education. So expect homework and handouts galore.
She is a mum to Sid and Addie and had two very different, but empowering births. Sid was born in Milton Keynes Hospital on a labour ward and Addie was born at home in the bathroom without any midwives present (born before arrival). Both were incredible experiences and I would honestly do them all over again- exactly as they were. Despite neither being textbook labours.
And that's why it's so important to know that it isn't necessarily what occurs during birth that actually matters (we'd all do whatever we could to make sure our baby was safe), because so much of it comes down to how you were made to feel.
- Did you feel like you had a voice?
- Did you feel like things were explained to you in a clear way that helped you make informed decisions?
- Did you feel prepared and like you understood your options?
- Did you feel that you had some semblance of control, even as plans changed?
- Did you feel like you trusted your body?
- Did you feel supported by your birth partner, instead of worrying about how they were coping?
That's where Tasha comes in. She quietens the noise around birth in an age of misinformation and overwhelm. She gives you space to explore your options without feeling like you are asking silly questions. She helps you find research and helps you deconstruct some of the absolute waffle we have been taught about birth.
So if you want to see what Tasha is up to, check out the upcoming events. She hosts a lot of FREE MASTERCLASSES to give you an insight into what birth preparation can look like.
Right, now, pass me those biscuits...
