K.W. (Ken) Wrede, DTM
Ken Wrede is a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, known for his active involvement in the local community. He and his wife joined the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area (LWVSPA) in April 2017, motivated by a passion for supporting voter education and access. Ken has served on the LWVSPA's Board of Directors, most recently as Board Secretary, and values the connections and knowledge gained through this organization.
He is also an active member of the local Toastmasters public speaking group, where he has achieved the status of Distinguished Toastmaster.
Ken's diverse background includes serving as a telecommunications officer in the U.S. Army during the 1980s. He has lived and worked in various countries, including the Netherlands, Spain, France, and South Korea, gaining experience in international business, security, consulting, and startups. Notably, he was part of a team that established successful telecommunications startups in the Netherlands and in Spain during the industry's deregulation.
Additionally, Ken worked at the US Embassy in The Hague in a security role and his a graduate of the HEC (Hautes Études Commerciales) EMBA (Executive Masters of Business Administration) in Paris, France.
