ASOHON (Northern Region)

The Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON) is a nationally recognized umbrella organization committed to promoting the welfare, rights, and protection of orphaned and vulnerable children across Nigeria. With over 550 registered member orphanages and care homes, ASOHON works closely with government agencies, civil society, and international partners to enhance standards of care, ensure regulatory compliance, and advocate for child-centered policies.

Founded to address the growing challenges in child care and protection, ASOHON provides training, capacity building, and operational support to orphanage operators. The association actively campaigns against child trafficking, fake orphanages, and other forms of child exploitation. Through strategic partnerships—including the deployment of digital tracking systems—it strengthens transparency, improves record-keeping, and promotes safe, family-based alternatives such as foster care.

ASOHON continues to be a voice for vulnerable children, pushing for legislative reforms, improved funding, and sustainable care solutions that ensure every child in Nigeria has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.
