Diocese of Leeds Music
Diocese of Leeds Music works with over 7,500 children across Yorkshire each week. Its Schools Singing Programme is recognised as the UK’s leading choral singing provision, working with 150 choral groups both during and outside the school day. These include boys’ and girls’ choirs in Bradford, Huddersfield, Keighley, Pontefract and Wakefield, together with the seven choirs of Leeds Cathedral.
In May 2016, the Keyboard Studies Programme was launched to provide high-quality organ, piano and classical accordion tuition across the Diocese to choristers, school students and adult learners. With a national decline in students learning the organ, the programme aims to reintroduce this instrument steeped in tradition to students of all backgrounds, teaching them valuable musical skills and opening doors to opportunities in further education.
