New College Worcester

New College Worcester (NCW) is the only secondary school in the UK dedicated to supporting vision impaired young people. We are a national, residential, non-maintained special school for students aged 11–19 who are blind or vision impaired (VI). Many of our students also face additional challenges, such as hearing impairments, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or being on the autistic spectrum.

While the majority of school fees are funded by local authorities—covering education, residency, and essential one-to-one support—the wider costs of running the school are not. General maintenance, unexpected repairs, refurbishment projects, vehicles, equipment, trips, and extracurricular activities are all funded directly by the school.

That’s why we run events throughout the year to raise vital funds and awareness. By taking part in our events, you are directly helping to provide life-changing opportunities, enriching experiences, and the very best support for our students.
