PTP-Usemi
PTP-Usemi is a specialist Mental Health service for marginalised communities. The organisation brings together the Psychosis Therapy Project (PTP), a grassroots specialist mental health service founded in 2013 and the USEMI Racial Trauma clinic, set up in 2020 in response to the over-representation of individuals from racialised communities among our service-users. We work in the Community with people who are socially and economically excluded and receive little support besides medication. Our trauma-informed interventions empower and destigmatise service users by validating their lived experience and offering safe spaces of Compassion, Care and Connection. Our evidence-based therapies substantially improve the wellbeing of highly vulnerable and isolated individuals and effectively reduce the risk of hospitalisation and suicide.
