What is somatic yin yoga?
Somatic Yin Yoga is a gentle, mindful practice that blends long-held postures of Yin Yoga with somatic awareness techniques. The focus is on tuning into your body’s sensations, encouraging intuitive movement and inner listening. This practice cultivates a deeper connection to your body’s innate wisdom, helping release tension, emotional blockages, and stress. It promotes relaxation, body awareness, and the healing of physical and emotional patterns stored within the body.

About me:
I’m Isabel, a yoga, somatics & Life Force Energy facilitator from Austria with a passion for helping others re-connect with their body & divine light that we all carry deep within. I’ve completed three yoga teacher trainings in India (Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga), a meditation training in Thailand, a Somatic Yin Yoga training in Germany, and a Life Force Activation training.
In my yoga classes, I focus on somatics and embodiment, which means bringing conscious awareness to the sensations in your body and exploring intuitive movement - from the inside out. This practice invites you to tune into your physical, emotional, and energetic body, allowing for a deeper connection with yourself.
Through this work, I aim to support you in embodying your authentic Self through deep body awareness, feeling your emotions fully, becoming more self-conscious and -centered, and living with an open heart.
I'm looking forward to seeing you on the mat!
Much love & a heart-warming hug to you! :-)

Frequently asked questions
All levels are warmly welcome, no prior experience required. Somatic Yin Yoga is accessible to all levels, whether you're a beginner or experienced. The focus is on body awareness and gentle movements, making it suitable for everyone.
In traditional yin yoga, the focus is on long-held passive poses to stretch deep connective tissues and improve flexibility. Somatic yin yoga, however, invites gentle, intuitive movements that increase body awareness, helping you tune into your sensations and create a deep body-mind-connection.
Somatic yoga encourages you to tune into your body, release tension, and become aware of subtle sensations. Along with breathing & meditation, this mindful practice helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes deep relaxation and stress relief.
Besides an electronic device & stable internet connection, you'll need a yoga mat, comfortable clothing, and a quiet space. A bolster, blanket, or pillows can be helpful for extra support in some poses, but they are optional. Also: Bring a journal & pen!
