Make-A-Wish Southern Florida
Make-A-Wish Southern Florida’s mission is simple and powerful: Together, we create life‑changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Since its founding in 1983 by the Plantation Junior Woman’s Club, the chapter has grown from granting a wish every 180 days to granting one approximately every 14 hours. In its 40+ year history, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida has granted more than 15,000 wishes, providing children and families with hope, strength, and transformative moments of joy. The organization serves 22 counties across Southeast and Southwest Florida, the Tampa Bay and Suncoast regions, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Each year, the chapter grants more than 550 wishes to local children and collaborates with other chapters to fulfill an additional 300+ wish assists. Make-A-Wish Southern Florida is funded entirely through corporate sponsorships, individual contributions, foundation grants, and special events, receiving no federal or state funding.
