Unexpected Productions Improv School in Issaquah brings more than 40 years of Seattle improv experience to the Eastside, giving students a place to learn, play, and become part of a real local improv community without having to head into Seattle for every class.

Our Issaquah program welcomes complete beginners through experienced performers. Classes focus on the skills at the heart of great improv: listening, confidence, creativity, collaboration, storytelling, spontaneity, and responding honestly in the moment. You will learn by doing in a supportive, highly interactive environment where taking risks, making mistakes, and discovering what happens next are all part of the process.

What makes Unexpected Productions different is that you are not simply enrolling in a comedy class or learning one prescribed style of improv. You are joining a working theater community with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest. Our approach draws on decades of performance, teaching, storytelling, and theatrical improvisation while encouraging students to develop their own voice.

The Issaquah school also gives Eastside students a pathway into the larger Unexpected Productions community. Continue through our improv curriculum, explore specialty workshops, connect with other improvisers, and see the work in action at our Market Theater in Pike Place Market, where we present live shows Wednesday through Sunday and Seattle Theatresports every Friday and Saturday.
