Chartered in March 2021, Whitchurch-Stouffville Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide organization dedicated to developing communication and leadership skills.

Our members bring different backgrounds, experiences, personalities, and goals to the club. What connects us is a desire to learn, support one another, and become more confident communicators. With both in-person and online opportunities, members and guests can participate in the way that works best for them.

What makes our club special is its people. We celebrate speeches, milestones, contest achievements, birthdays, and the courage it takes to try something new. Along the way, members build friendships, enjoy the experience, and encourage one another to keep growing, because confidence develops through practice, support, and time.

How We Learn

At Toastmasters, we learn by doing. Meetings are structured, interactive, and different every week.

Members can practise through:

• Prepared speeches
• Impromptu speaking
• Constructive speech evaluations
• Meeting leadership and facilitation roles
• Active listening and thoughtful feedback

There is no expectation that you will be a polished speaker when you arrive. You choose when and how you participate, taking on new challenges as you become more comfortable.

Mistakes are part of learning, and every effort is supported and celebrated.

Come and Meet Us

We meet on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., with in-person and online opportunities available.

Guests aged 18 and over are always welcome. There is no pressure to speak or participate during your first visit—you’re welcome to simply observe, meet our members, and see how a Toastmasters meeting works.
