Winchester Schools Training Alliance

Winchester Schools Training Alliance includes 22 primary and secondary schools in Winchester, working with the University of Winchester. Our aim is to provide excellent teacher training for Winchester and the surrounding area.

Our schools have considerable experience and expertise in developing and supporting qualified teachers and those entering the teaching profession. For a number of years, the city’s secondary schools have worked in partnership to train teachers and we were very excited to be joined by primary partners in 2016.

The University of Winchester is rated as outstanding by Ofsted for its initial teacher training provision and in the most recent National Student Survey it was ranked in the top 5 universities in England.

As lead school for the Alliance, The Westgate School in Winchester will be hosting open mornings, information events and offering work experience days.
